When you become a GVEC Internet customer, we give you options—speed packages, pricing plans, etc. Another option you have is whether to purchase your own network equipment for wireless coverage within your home or to rent it from us.

Some people may believe purchasing this type of gear is best, so they’ll own it outright. However, the majority of GVEC Internet customers choose to rent it from us. Here’s a list of five reasons that make renting GVEC equipment such a popular choice:

Cost

All branches of GVEC services operate with the cooperative principles GVEC was originally founded upon. This means putting people before profit—which also means we won’t charge you an arm and a leg when renting from us. Rather than making big bucks in rental fees, our goal is providing the best internet experience possible for our customers.

Plus, many customers prefer our low monthly rental fees to paying a large amount of money up front for these types of accessories. Our router rental cost is $6 per month, and components for our mesh network Home Wi-Fi Optimization solution cost $2 per month, per pod. In comparison, buying a mesh network from a big box store can cost $300 or more.

Compatibility

Simply stated: GVEC stuff is goes with other GVEC stuff. Our mesh networks are perfectly compatible with GVEC routers. You won’t have to take a guess at whether or not a Wi-Fi extender is what you need or to worry if the mesh network you select in a store will jive with your router once you get it home and attempt to hook it all up. Configuration

We take the work out of setting up your home network—at no additional cost. Our technicians configure your GVEC router when installing your GVEC Internet. If for some reason you need a replacement router, our customer service representatives (CSRs) will configure a new one in the office for you.

We’ll also completely set up the mesh network for GVEC Home Wi-Fi Optimization. If your GVEC router’s signal is weaker in certain areas, we can help you determine if this solution is right for you. No worries, no fuss, no extra charge.

Care

Our CSRs are specially trained and have the necessary access to troubleshoot GVEC equipment. While we’ll always attempt to help customers with any of their needs, we can’t guarantee familiarity or knowledge of non-GVEC gear. However, we can always provide the help you need with GVEC components.
