How long does a land survey take?

The time required to complete a survey will depend on the type of survey required, the size and condition of the property, the amount of effort required to research the legal information necessary to prove the reference points to be used and the WEATHER.

If you would like to order a complete boundary survey today, and have it completed by tomorrow, it is NOT going to happen for a number of reasons.

1. There are people in line ahead of you.

2. There are legal requirements we are obligated to comply with to prove the location of your property. That requires time in the courthouse researching your records to find the information required.

3. Once the records have been located and verified a working sketch of the property based on the legal descriptions must be prepared to show the survey crew where to look for your legal monuments and any reference points on neighboring properties that will be required to prove the location of your tract.

4. After the preparations are complete the crew needs to shoot the job in the field.

5. Once the shots are taken they have to be trigonometrically analyzed to determine where the new survey monuments are to be set. Then the crew returns to the field to set the monuments before we can legally certify that the work has been completed.

Surveying is a time consuming and labor intensive process.
