How do I search for something?Answer: You can search the internet by using the search feature on our Home Page. Just select the search engine, directory, or meta search engine you want to use, type in the text you are searching for, and click the Search button. You can also go directly to the search engines and directories listed below by clicking on their links. Search Engine - A Web site which uses automated systems to collect information about the millions of Web pages on the internet. The systems try to discern the subject matter contained in the pages by evaluating what words and links exist on the pages, and what other pages are linked to them. (i.e. Altavista, Hotbot, Excite) Directory - A Web site which has actual people evaluate the content of Web sites, and groups them in directories according to their subject matter. (i.e. Yahoo, Snap) Meta Search Engine - A Web site that queries and returns results from other search engines and directories. (i.e. Mamma, Ask Jeeves) |
