The Gonzales County Records Center and Archives has grown to be
one of the most active and impressive in the State of Texas.
The Archives houses documents as early as 1825, predating Texas independence. These are
carefully preserved in the Records Center. Director of the

at 830-672-7970 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday on days the courthouse is
open.

Fees are set by the County and State (fee schedule available). SASE requested.
Copies are supplied from the files of the Archives at the current charge of 50 cents per
page.
For records available only through the County Clerk's office:
$1.00 per page for photocopies. (Schedule available for certified copies).
Extensive research is referred to a professional upon request.
The Records Center has a "Swap" Program, trading copy work for your documented
information.
This has enabled building an extensive collection of data concerning early families of
Gonzales County.
We accept printed or GEDCOM material.

The Gonzales County History Book has been reprinted and can be purchased from the above
address for $75.00 plus $5.00 for postage/handling. It contains information and many photos of
all the known communities, churches, organizations, and many families of the County.
The Records Center offers much to the researcher,
whether it be history, genealogy, architecture, social customs,
or any interest that requires a knowledge of the past.
