Day #5, 312 miles, Thursday 7/22/04
We gassed up in Walden and had breakfast at the Moose Creek Cookhouse.

Jesse saying hello to WY.

MaryAnn saying goodbye to CO.
We stopped at Mom's Kitchen in Saratoga, WY for coffee and took a picture there with WoWo, who is a perfect match for our friend, the World traveler, Miss Nectarine.

We stopped at Three Forks Muddy Gap Service for gas.  They had a table just inside for customers to sit and relax.  So we had a cup of coffee and the new owner joined us and gave us a history of the area.

We stopped in Lander, WY for gas and met a couple on a Harley who were from a town just North of New Orleans, LA.  We then went to a restaurant in Landers for lunch.  While there a customer came up to us after she noticed "Comal River Riders" printed on our shirts, and said she had tubed the Comal river just a couple of weeks ago.  She was from the Houston area.

MaryAnn - Jesse must have been afraid of the Jackalope, as his hands were shaking for this shot!
We ran into showers after lunch and stopped for the night earlier than planned at the Black Bear Country Inn in Dubois, WY.  Since we had extra time, we did laundry and ate dinner before going to sleep.  I would recommend the Black Bear Country Inn to anyone traveling through Dubois.  The owner was very interesting to talk to and she also had a Teddy Bear shop inside her office.  They have a giant black bear outside the Inn.
