Arizona 2003!

We rode through the mountains after leaving Nita's. Here
is a picture of the working copper mine that we rode by at Morenci,
AZ
The vehicles that you see are hugh trucks. From so high up,
the people look like ants!

The road through the mountains was an uphill, 2 lane road.

We rode a total of 261 miles on Tuesday. The ride took all
day because most of the driving was 10-20 miles per hour on the mountains.

We rode all day Wednesday through an area with many oil wells.
There wasn't much to take pictures of until we arrived in Roswell, NM.
We had planned to check out the UFO Museum and Research Center, but
they closed at 5:00 pm and we got there at 5:15 pm! After shopping
around in the souvenir shops and looking at inflatable aliens, we
decided to head on to Carlsbad, NM for the night.

We managed to get past Artesia, NM when the bike started fishtailing.
We soon realized that we had a flat tire.
We immediately called Honda's roadside assistance and within an hour
help had arrived. The towtruck took us back to Roswell to the Honda
dealership. Of course they were closed by the time we arrived, so
we walked across the highway to a motel for the night. We traveled
379 miles Wednesday.
